Dan is currently the President of the Colorado League of Charter Schools.  He previously served as the League’s Director of Governmental Affairs, in which role he works with charter schools and partners from across the state to develop and execute the League’s annual legislative agenda. He regularly advocates for high-quality charter public schools at the district, state and federal level.

Prior to joining the League, Schaller worked for the Denver Preschool Program helping to provide preschool tuition assistance to 4-year-old children across Denver. Before that, he spent 5 years as a social studies teacher at Denver’s highly successful Arrupe Jesuit High School. He has a B.A. in Political Science from St. Louis University, a Master’s in Secondary Education from Regis University, and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Denver.

As a founding board member at Academy 360, Schaller was drawn to the school because of its unique focus on the whole child and wanting to provide a high-quality educational alternative to the young children of Montbello. He remains committed to the school’s mission of providing students with a well-rounded education that will develop their minds, bodies and characters.
