Born in Chicago and raised right outside of the city, Lauren moved to Colorado in 2016 to attend CU Boulder, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with minors in Education and Political Science. Through various jobs and studies that centered on equity, education, and the rights of children, Lauren decided that the classroom would be the best place for her passions to make an impact. At CU Denver in 2021, she then completed the Teacher Education Program and earned a master’s degree in Learning, Development, & Family Sciences with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. Lauren has spent the past two years teaching preschool in Boulder, and is passionate about showing children their own strengths and competencies. She believes that having a strong image of the child is crucial to fostering academic achievement, and that building relationships lays the foundation for any educational experience. When not in the classroom, Lauren loves spending time outside – at the park with her pup, skiing/playing volleyball/running, or enjoying live music with friends!
