Fourth Grade Teacher

Born in West Virginia, Niki has lived in Colorado since the winter of 2010. She realized that she was an educator while homeschooling her three sons, as she took great delight in creating relevant learning experiences for them. She began studying education part time at Front Range Community College in 2012 where she graduated with her Associates of Arts in 2018, magna cum laude. From there she transferred to the University of Colorado Denver to finish her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Human Development, graduating in 2020 summa cum laude. She has been working as an interventionist, an instructional assistant, or a substitute teacher since 2016. Niki believes that social and emotional competencies are the foundation for academic achievement. She loves continuing to build her fluency in the Spanish language (politely fluent) and enjoys live music, dancing, and reading in her free time.
